Newly appointed head coach of Moscow Dynamo, Leonid Tambiev, has expressed satisfaction with the performances of forwards Jordan Weal and Dylan Sikura.
When asked if Weal and Sikura meet his expectations, Tambiev replied, “Yes, I’m happy with them. I like foreign players who show consistent results year after year, not those who have one breakout season, get a big contract extension, and then slack off.”
Regarding the future of Maxim Motorygin, Tambiev stated, “I want to talk to him face-to-face, not over the phone. I understand his position, but I need to hear from him directly.”
Asked about which players might leave the club this summer, Tambiev declined to name names out of professionalism. However, when pressed specifically about Maxim Mamin, who was brought in under former coach Alexei Kudashov, Tambiev joked, “Let Alexei Nikolaevich take him.”
Tambiev also confirmed the team’s plan to trade Cedric Paquette, stating, “If a player requires too much management, he’s not a true foreign player. I’d rather invest my knowledge and energy into developing younger players.”
The interview touched on various aspects of team building, with Tambiev emphasizing his preference for disciplined, consistent performers. The coach’s comments highlight his strategic approach to building a cohesive roster for the upcoming KHL season.
