Inter Milan showed they are still a force to be reckoned with, securing a commanding 3-0 victory over Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico in Serie A’s matchday 36. Cristian Chivu’s side put on a masterclass, never allowing the hosts any real chance to get back into the contest.
The scoring started early when captain Lautaro Martinez found the net in the 6th minute with one of his trademark clinical finishes. He then turned provider for the second goal in the 39th minute, setting up Sucic for a brilliant long-range strike that doubled Inter’s lead. The match was effectively decided before halftime.
In the second half, Lazio were reduced to 10 men after Romagnoli received a red card in the 59th minute. Despite a spirited reaction, they were punished again when Mkhitaryan converted a left-footed finish from inside the box after being set up by Bonny in the 76th minute, making it 3-0. Attention now turns to Wednesday’s Coppa Italia Final, where the two sides will meet once again.
