Rumors linking Paulo Dybala with a future at Boca Juniors are growing stronger, but this time it’s the Argentine star himself who has dropped a clear hint. Speaking to ‘TyC Sports’, Dybala opened up about his close bond with Leandro Paredes, who has been persistently urging him to join him at La Bombonera.
“I receive messages from Leo (Paredes) and Cami, his wife, who has a great relationship with Oriana. We’re always in touch,” Dybala said. The two shared the pitch for a total of 74 matches—first with the Argentine national team, winning the 2022 World Cup together, and later at Roma between 2023 and 2025, before Paredes returned to Boca.
“Two days ago, I posted a picture wearing a Boca Juniors jersey, and they sent it to the group asking if it was real or AI-generated. We had a good laugh,” Dybala recalled. “It would be fantastic. We miss them a lot. But I don’t know what could happen. We have an incredible friendship and we’d love to spend more time with them.”
However, Dybala stressed his current commitment: “Now I play for Roma, I have to defend this shirt, and you never know.” His partner, Oriana, added, “It depends on many things. We have to see how things develop. I hope the decision is made in June so I can prepare mentally.”
What is clear is that the ball is in Dybala’s court. He is enduring a difficult season plagued by injuries, having played only 18 matches. His contract expires in June, and reports from Italy indicate that Roma has no intention of offering him an extension.
